  • A–F meal grades, daily goals and AI summaries

How it works

Three steps to knowing what you eat

1

Log a meal

By text, a photo of your plate, or voice. Rough is fine — a big portion of beef stew with six dumplings.

2

AI estimates the values

Calories with a range, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar and an A–F grade. You can edit or refine the estimate anytime.

3

Track your goal

Daily goal, macros, streaks, statistics and AI summaries of your day, week and month. All in one place.

Features

Everything you need to stay on top of calories

From quick meal logging to statistics and an AI coach that tells you where the day went wrong.

AI calorie estimates

Text, photo or voice — AI recognizes the food and portion and calculates calories and macros. You can always fine-tune the estimate by hand.

A–F meal grades

Every meal gets a grade based on nutritional quality. See at a glance what is holding you back.

Macros and daily goals

Protein, carbs, fat, fiber and sugar against your targets. Recommendations calculated from your profile (BMR/TDEE).

AI daily, weekly and monthly summaries

A personal review: what went well, where the weak spot is and one concrete tip for tomorrow. Automatic.

Streaks and habits

Streaks for logging, deficit, protein or fiber. Motivation that keeps you going.

History and statistics

A day-by-day calendar, charts of intake, macros and habits. Trends over weeks and months.

Calorie deficit

Connect Garmin or Apple Health and track your deficit, not just intake

Weight loss comes down to balance: intake minus expenditure. cal0ries pulls your daily energy expenditure from your watch or phone and shows your real deficit — every day, no manual math.

  • Garmin Connectdirect account link, automatic sync of expenditure and steps
  • Apple Healthconnected via Shortcuts on iPhone — expenditure is sent automatically
  • Deficit streakset a target deficit and keep the streak going day after day
  • Sport fuelgels and sports drinks during training do not count against your sugar limit

Data export

Your data is yours — download it as CSV or PDF

Pick a period and download a complete meal log with calories, macros and grades. A PDF with daily totals for your coach or nutritionist, CSV for your own analysis in Excel.

  • Any period — quick presets or a custom date range
  • PDF report grouped by day, with totals and averages
  • CSV ready for Excel and Google Sheets
  • Export straight from the meal log or from settings

MCP server

Ask about your diet in Claude or ChatGPT

cal0ries has a built-in MCP server (Model Context Protocol). Generate an API token in settings, connect your AI assistant and ask naturally: how much protein do I eat, how is my deficit going, what should I improve. You can even log meals through it.

How much protein do I eat per day on average, and how is my deficit this month?

This month you average 112 g of protein per day (goal 120 g). You were in a calorie deficit 19 of 24 days, averaging −430 kcal. Fridays are your weak spot — dinners tend to be over 900 kcal.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is cal0ries free?

Yes. Just sign up with e-mail or a Google account and you can start logging meals and tracking calories right away.

How accurate are the AI calorie estimates?

AI returns an estimate with a min–max range so the uncertainty is honest and visible. You can edit any value by hand or refine the estimate with extra detail (it was fried in butter) — AI recalculates it.

Does cal0ries work on mobile?

Yes. It is a web app (PWA) you add to your home screen on iPhone or Android and it behaves like a native app — no app store needed.

How does the Garmin or Apple Health connection work?

You connect Garmin with your credentials in settings, Apple Health via a Shortcut on iPhone. The app then knows your daily energy expenditure and calculates your calorie balance and deficit automatically.

What is MCP and why should I care?

Model Context Protocol — a standard that lets AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor…) securely connect to your cal0ries data. You then ask about your diet in natural language, or let the assistant log meals for you.
